Habita is a marketplace that connects renters with local scouts: verified locals who tour apartments, condos, and houses on your behalf and send you a detailed report. If you're relocating and can't tour in person, a scout will give you the on-the-ground perspective you need to make a confident decision.

Anyone renting sight unseen. That includes people relocating for work, students moving to a new city, remote workers who want to move somewhere they've never lived, and anyone whose schedule makes in-person tours impossible.

We're starting in Los Angeles first, with more cities to follow. If your target neighborhood is in LA, you're in the right place. If you're moving somewhere else, join the waitlist and we'll let you know when we expand to your market.

A scout tours the property at a time that works with the listing schedule and tours it the way you would. They check the rooms, natural light, storage, building common areas, and the surrounding block, then deliver a written report with photos. You can tell your scout exactly what you care about when you book.

Reports cover the physical condition of the unit, layout, light, noise level, building quality, and neighborhood context. You can also request specific focus areas like pet-friendliness, proximity to transit, or work-from-home setup when you book.

Once Habita launches, you'll be able to book a scout in minutes and get your report within 24 to 48 hours of the tour.

Pricing varies by scout and the type of report you request. You can see exact pricing when you browse scouts.

Securely through Habita, by credit or debit card. You never pay scouts directly.

Our cancellation policy will be detailed at launch. Our goal is to be fair to both renters and scouts.
