Moving to a new city without seeing your future home in person is a lot. You're making one of the biggest financial decisions of your life based on photos, floor plans, and a gut feeling. Habita exists to close that gap. Every part of our platform is built so you can rely on a scout report the same way you'd rely on walking through the door yourself.
How we vet our scouts
Every scout on Habita goes through a multi-step review before they can take their first booking.
We confirm every scout's government-issued ID before they're approved. You always know a real, verified person completed your tour.
All scouts pass a background check covering criminal history and identity fraud. If something comes up, they don't get approved.
Scouts are briefed on what to look for: structural issues, natural light, noise, neighborhood context. And on how to represent a property accurately. No filters, no spin.
After every tour, renters rate their scout. Scouts who fall below our quality bar are reviewed and, where necessary, removed from the platform.
How your payment works
You never pay a scout directly. When you book through Habita, your payment is held securely by us and only released to the scout after your report is delivered and confirmed. If something goes wrong, the scout cancels, the tour doesn't happen, or the report doesn't meet our standards, you get your money back.
We use industry-standard SSL encryption on every transaction. Your card details are never stored on our servers.
Your data stays yours
We collect only what's necessary to complete your booking. We don't sell your personal information to third parties. We don't share your contact details with scouts beyond what's needed to coordinate the tour.
